Don’t even get me started on elemental hitzones. This product cannot be shipped to the following countries due to copyright and other region restrictions: business days. I know that’s a lot more information than you asked for but this stuff is a lot more complex than it looks, especially when it comes to how elemental damage is handled in Monster Hunter.
#MHW CHARMAS FULL#
It increases the clip side and this is why the skill’s full name is actually Free Element/Ammo Up. Free element also works differently on guns.

They can also be boosted by Non Elemental Boost but only if the gun in question can’t use any elemental ammo. So having thunder attack 4 or 5 is completely wasted on a bow gun. Their elemental ammo is capped at +3 of a given elemental skill even though there are 5 levels. Unless you use Bow or DB.īowguns are different though.

Because it boosts raw damage and MHW has a raw damage meta, this is usually the way you want to go when trying to deal more damage. Any weapon with a grayed out number can be boosted by NEB to do 10% more raw damage for a much cheaper skill investment than free element. That being said, there is another and usually better option to unlocking that element that is cheaper and often deals more damage.

Usually this element is higher than weapons that have a base element because of the investment it takes to unlock it.

You need to unlock this element with a skill called Free Element. Hidden elements(this also applies to status so keep that in mind) are basically weapons that have a grey number under their stats. Which can be direct damage like blast or damage over time like poison or even an actual status effect like paralysis or sleep. Statuses are much the same except they don’t do more damage, but hits deal build up until the status itself becomes active on the target. Things like fire damage will increase the fire damage of that weapon but not anything else. You can buff that element/status for more damage or you can focus on more raw damage depending on the weapon type, but you will still have that element damage or status ailment there on every attack. Some weapons simply come with element or status already unlocked on them and they can only ever have that element or status. Might as well introduce you to the full concept sooner than later because the game is pretty shit at explaining these things (I actually like it that way but that’s neither here nor there). Any elemental skill will only be in effect if the corresponding element is active on a weapon.
